Treating Yourself to a Scalp Massage

Healthy Scalp. Healthier Hair.

As well as being relaxing, a scalp massage, like you’re treated to at a salon, has real benefits for your scalp, too. Our resident expert Sylvie teaches you how to give yourself a stress reducing and beneficial massage in the comfort of your own home.

The Right Technique

From a seated position, rest your elbows on the table, let your head fall forward. Place your hands, through your hair, on either side of your scalp, fingers spread. This position helps blood flow to the scalp and improves circulation. Massage your scalp with your fingertips and move the skin around in small circles. Move from the nape of your neck up to the top of your head, moving hands a bit more outward as you massage up and down your scalp. Repeat two to three times a week for five minutes, before washing your hair.

The Benefits of Scalp Massages

As well as promoting relaxation, a scalp massage leaves the skin more supple and boosts blood flow, or circulation, helping improve the function of nutrients, responsible for healthier-looking hair, to your hair follicles. The overall result? Revitalized, stronger and shiny hair.

Detox Massage

Add a few drops of Régénérescence Naturelle to increase the benefits of your massage. This oil is the ultimate secret weapon for a healthier scalp, and contains nourishing Chilean rose, detoxifying red thyme and rebalancing borage oil. It sloughs away dead skin cells, pollution deposits and styling product residue while revitalizing the scalp. Gently massage into scalp for five minutes. Do not scrub, in order to avoid stimulating sebum production.

Anti-Hair Loss Massage

If you’re experiencing some hair loss, we recommend a scalp massage every day. Before washing your hair, add a few drops of Régénérescence Naturelle to assist in improving circulation and the benefits of massage . We also recommend using Complexe Énergisant for two to three months, using one vial three times a week after washing hair. This complex is with amino acids and multi-beneficial plant extracts to boost hair health.

Massage on the Go

Time crunch? Massage your scalp while washing your hair. Deposit a pea-sized amount of shampoo on the top of your head and, with a little water, work into a lather. Massage your scalp, applying a little pressure with your fingertips. Keep massaging shampoo into scalp, under shower water, until hair is perfectly rinsed. This technique triggers the benefits and effects of the active ingredients in your shampoo and relaxes your nerve endings. Total bliss guaranteed!

Make massage part of your hair care regimen. You, and your scalp, deserve it.
