Winter is the perfect time to give your hair extra care and shield it from the harsh effects of the cold. Explore the hair care rituals of Caroline Greyl, President and owner of Leonor Greyl, designed to help your hair stay healthy, glamorous, and weather-resistant all season long.
Step 1:
Before shampooing, apply an oil to the length and ends. A true pampering treatment for sensitive hair, L’Huile de Leonor Greyl is your go-to solution for combating the dryness and brittleness caused by cold weather. Enriched with Copra oil and the protective benefits of Mongongo nut oil, it instantly restores softness and flexibility to your hair. Simply apply the oil to dry hair, focusing on the lengths and ends, and carry on with your day while it works its magic. Tie your hair up and leave the treatment on for at least 10 minutes—or even longer, from a few hours to overnight—before shampooing.

Step 2:
A shampoo should last at least three minutes. Select your shampoo based on your scalp's needs, not the condition of your lengths and ends. Start by thoroughly wetting your hair, then apply a small amount of shampoo to the roots. Gently massage your scalp using circular motions with your fingertips, gradually adding small amounts of water. Remember, a shampoo doesn’t need to produce lots of lather to be effective. Highly foaming products are often the harshest on your hair.
Step 3:
Take the time to let your mask sit. Choose your mask or conditioner based on the condition of your length and ends and avoid applying it to the roots to preserve volume. For fine hair, use Masque Fleurs de Jasmin, a revitalizing treatment for tired, lifeless hair. For very dry, thick, or frizzy hair, opt for the more hydrating Masque à l’Orchidée. If your hair is brittle, dehydrated, or weakened, choose Masque Quintessence. To use, apply the mask to dry hair, focusing on the length and ends, and leave it on for 20 minutes. Alternatively, apply it after shampooing to towel-dried hair, again avoiding the roots. In this case, leave it on for 5 minutes before rinsing.

Step 4:
Apply a styling treatment to protect the hair from winter attacks before blow-drying. Heat damage from styling tools is often underestimated. To protect your hair, always apply a small amount of leave-in moisturizer before styling. For lightweight protection, use Sérum de Soie Sublimateur. Its silk proteins coat the hair, adding shine and smoothness without weighing it down. It also shields hair from wind, rain, and cold.
