We’re starting to feel a little chill in the air. And while we love sweater season (so cute!) we hate what the cold does to our lovely locks.
Here are four tips to prep for the months ahead to ensure that your hair soft is and shiny throughout the nippier months:
- Take cold showers. Hot water can dry out your hair and make it more apt to break. Use warm or lukewarm water instead and remember that cold water actually helps to seal moisture into the hair.
- Avoid heat as much as possible. We know that you can’t leave the house with wet hair in the winter, but you can set your blowdryer to cool instead of hot. It may take an extra five minutes, but trust us that it is worth it.
- Deep-conditioners are your best friend. Double up on your deep conditioning routine. If you usually deep condition with something like the Masque Quintessence every other week, make sure you do it once a week. If you usually do it once a week, do it twice a week. Your hair will be craving the moisture come December.
- Oils are your second best-friend. We recommend regularly massaging your ends with our Huile de Palme and even sleeping with the oil still in your hair to lock in moisture and ensure maximum shine.
